Outsiders view

In this section we hope to gather some feedback from players from other clubs (and match officials) regarding our times playing against each other.

The first here is from Peter Doughty, known to all as Jack, he is the President of Old Northamptonians RFC, their 4th team captain for some years and an old school prop ie can’t catch let alone score a try!

Below are some memories from Keith Shurville, President of Northampton Old Scouts RFC. Known to all as Shurv, he has played for Scouts since 1970 and had a deserved reputation as a tough and “abrasive” player! After retiring from playing he has been a great servant to not only his club but also wider in the East Midlands as being the EMRU Council Member at the RFU until 2019, serving on a number of RFU Committees.

Some thoughts from Peter Franklin, now a Trustee at Northampton Casuals RFC and a past Trinity Old Boys player and ex captain of the mighty 4th/B Team.

Andy Collier, a well respected former BBOB full back and captain, and now their President recalls times vs Trinity especially some cup final battles.

A few memories from Clive Leeke, President of the East Midlands Rugby Union Referees Society, ex captain on Old Northamptonians RFC and former President of the East Midlands Rugby Union. Not a man to argue with about decisions or the Laws as he also sits on the RFU Laws Committee!
